KATHMANDU: The Agriculture and Livestock Development Office, Ramechhap, has invited applications from interested farmers to participate in the International Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition-2083 with the objective of informing the commercial farmers of Ramechhap about the use of modern agricultural technology, machines and equipment.
Issuing a notice, the Agriculture and Livestock Development Office of the Directorate of Agriculture Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Environment of Bagmati Province has appealed to the interested commercial farmers to participate in the expo.
KATHMANDU: The International Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition-2083 is going to be held in Kathmandu on November 19, 20, 2083 under the theme ‘Machinery and Technology in Agriculture, Farmers and Nation’s Prosperity’.
The office has started the process to involve the farmers of Ramechhap in the exhibition. According to the office, the participation in the exhibition is being arranged with the goal of increasing the use of modern machines and equipment in agricultural work, providing information about new technology and increasing the efficiency of the farmers.
Krishna Sharma, president of the Agriculture Machinery Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (Namia), said that this initiative of the Agriculture Office has added enthusiasm to the promotion of agricultural mechanization and the use of modern technology. Stating that the mechanization exhibition is being organized for the transformation of the agriculture sector, he urged the Agriculture Office, local level and other stakeholders to provide active support like Ramechhap.
“The mechanization exhibition is going to be organized for the transformation of agriculture. We request the agriculture office, municipality and all the stakeholders to support it like Ramechhap,” Sharma said.
Farmers interested in participating in the exhibition will have to submit the application to the office within seven days from the date of publication of the notice, i.e., till October 26. Farmers can fill in the necessary details in the application form provided by the office. Similarly, the application can also be submitted through the office email [email protected]{{TAG_CLOSE_a_26}.
In the application, the name and address of the farmer, contact number, citizenship or farmer identity card number, the crop and area being cultivated, the name of the agricultural farm or group, the period of agricultural business, the details of the available structures and equipment should be mentioned. Also, the reason and expectation of participating in the exhibition should be disclosed.
According to the office, transportation arrangements will be made for the farmers participating in the exhibition. The participating farmers will be given an observation for one day during the exhibition.
Since the number of participants is limited, the selection will be done on the basis of the professionalism and needs of the farmers, according to the office. The office can also set the necessary criteria for selection, the notice said.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Environment will be the co-organizer of the exhibition to be jointly organized by the Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Center under the Department of Agriculture and Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association (NAMIA). The National Agricultural Engineering Research Center under the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), the Agriculture Enterprise Center under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the National Federation of Rural Municipalities Nepal will participate as partner organizations.
