South Korea’s Finance Minister Ku Eun-chol has made it clear that he does not want to stop the growing number of foreign tourists visiting the country, but wants to speed it up. Therefore, the discount for tourists from these countries has been fixed till June 30.

Now the question is, who will get this exemption? This exemption is being given to ‘Short-Term Group Visas’ of the C-3-2 category. This discount will be available to tourists from India, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia. Tourists from these countries represent the largest share of South Korea’s tourism market because of the exemption given to these countries.

The main reason for the Korean government’s decision is the huge growth in the tourism sector. According to official figures, the number of foreign tourists arriving in South Korea in November has broken all pre-Covid-19 records. About 1.6 million tourists arrived in South Korea in November. This is an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year.
