xKathmandu. Narayan Bajaj has taken the oath of office and secrecy as the new chairman of Himalayan Life Insurance Company. Chairperson of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Chandra Kala Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Chairman Bajaj Kumar amidst a ceremony held in Kathmandu today.
The board meeting of Himalayan Life Insurance held on April 7 had decided to appoint Bajaj as the chairman. The meeting elected him as the chairman of Laxmi Corp Nepal from the vacant promoter group.
Earlier, Shuwal Agrawal was the chairman of Himalayan Life. He had resigned from the post on April 19 citing personal reasons. Bajaj has been appointed as the chairman of the company for the remainder of the term.
Agrawal is currently in police custody in connection with a money laundering case.
