Butwal Power donates Rs. 51 lakhs to flood victims

Kathmandu. Butwal Power Company Limited (BPC) and its affiliated group companies and BPC employees have handed over a financial assistance of Rs 51,41,986 to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund (PMLF) for the relief of the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

The company handed over a cheque for the amount to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha today as a gesture of solidarity with the search, rescue and relief efforts being carried out by the government after the floods on August 10 caused a huge loss of life and property. This assistance has been provided for humanitarian services on behalf of the private sector in this difficult situation.

Out of this collective donation, Rs 33,36,986 has been collected from Butwal Power Company and its employees, out of which Rs 22 lakh has been contributed by the company and Rs 11,36,986 has been contributed by the management and employees. Similarly, Nyadi Hydro Power Limited has contributed Rs 5,50,000, Himal Power Limited has contributed Rs 50,000, Hydro Consult Engineering Limited has contributed Rs 5,05,000 and Khudi Hydro Power Limited has contributed Rs 2,50,000.

The company also expressed its condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy safe contact of the missing people.
