According to Vice-Chairman of the City Sports Development Board Dipak Tamang, the tournament will be held on April 11, 12 and 13, 2083 BS. Enthusiastic participation of players from all 13 wards of the municipality is expected to participate in the tournament.
The competition will be held in football, basketball, badminton, esports (PUBG), taekwondo, karate, futsal and wushu. Muay Thai and Taekwondo performances and cultural dance performances will also be held in the Kathmandu Valley.
“This tournament will encourage local players and strengthen the sporting environment within the city. This will help the youths to move in a positive direction and produce national level players,” said Vice-President Deepak Tamang.
According to Tamang, the winners securing first, second and third positions in all sports categories will be awarded with trophies, medals and certificates. The total prize money of the tournament is Rs 4,05,000, which is expected to generate more enthusiasm and motivation among the players.
According to the organizers, the players and teams interested in participating in the tournament should register their names by April 6, 2083. T-shirts and jerseys will be provided to all the players participating in the opening ceremony.
The competition is expected to contribute significantly to the development of sports culture, identification of talents and building a healthy and disciplined society. g.
