Kathmandu. A free eye check-up camp and mock test for students were organized at Nepal Engineering College in Changunarayan on a single day. On Thursday, Lions Club of Bhaktapur in collaboration with Siddhakali organized a blood donation and eye check-up camp at the college.
According to Mahesh Pujara, media relations officer of the college, the college had a significant participation in the camp. The eye camp included tests for cataract, glaucoma, vision check-up and allergy.
On the occasion, the college also conducted a mock test free of cost. The students who are preparing to study engineering were given free mock tests to help them prepare for the entrance examination.
In the mock test, Harsha Jaiswal won the first prize of Rs 5,000 while Sachet Subedi and Sobit Khatri came second and third. The college also awarded them cash prizes of Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000. More than 200 students participated in the mock test.
The college, which is operated as a non-profit social educational institution, is conducting entrance examination for the academic session 2083 on July 9. According to the college, attractive scholarships will be given to the students who score the best marks in the entrance examination and other students will also be given discounts while admitting them according to the results of the entrance examination. The college, affiliated to Pokhara University, distributes scholarships worth around Rs 15 crore every year.
