Kathmandu. Commercial banks have reduced interest rates for the month of March.
According to the notice published by the banks, the banks have further reduced the maximum interest rate of personal fixed deposits. Out of the 20 commercial banks in operation, nine have reduced their fixed deposits for the month of March, while 11 have kept them stable.
Most of the banks’ business is below 5 percent. In terms of individual fixed deposits, NM Bank and NIC Asia Bank have the highest 5 percent, while Rastriya Banijya Bank has the lowest at 2.75 percent.
The average interest rate of commercial banks has come down to 4.32 percent.
