Bankers’ Association expresses sorrow over Rasuwa floods

Kathmandu. Nepal Bankers’ Association has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life, property and physical infrastructure caused by floods and natural disasters in Rasuwa and other districts. The association has expressed heartfelt condolence to all those who lost their lives in this disaster and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

The association said in a statement, “It has been reported that most of the bank employees working in the flood-affected districts are safe and some employees are yet to be contacted.” Some branches of the bank in the affected districts have also been affected due to the floods and inundations. In addition, due to the disruption of electricity, internet and communication services, there is also a challenge in the operation of regular banking services in the affected districts. However, the banks are making every effort to maintain the continuity of service and provide necessary support to the affected customers by making maximum use of available resources, means and alternative arrangements. Nepal Bankers’ Association is moving forward in necessary coordination and cooperation with the Government of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank and related stakeholders during this time of disaster. ‘

Nepal’s banking sector is fully committed to supporting the Government of Nepal in relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts in this difficult situation. The banking sector has said that it will do its best to provide necessary support to the affected employees, their families and the general public.

Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) has pledged to coordinate with its member banks for relief, rescue, continuity and restoration.
