Kathmandu. Visa, the global digital payment network, has signed an agreement with MetLife Bangladesh to provide full insurance benefits to its employees and their dependent family members in Bangladesh.
Under the agreement, visa staff will receive financial protection in case of accident, disability and death. Dependents of employees will also get inpatient, outpatient and maternity insurance coverage.
Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Visa Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, and Alaa Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Insurance coverage plays an important role in building a sense of security and loyalty in the employee. A recent Employment Benefit Trends Study (EBTS) survey found that more than 56 percent of employees said financial worries would reduce their productivity. In addition, 41 percent of employees linked financial stress to mental health problems.
In the same survey, 78 percent of employees said welfare benefits such as insurance and mental health support make them more loyal to their organization. Visa chose MetLife for its employees. This is because of its consistently successful insurance claim payment capabilities, customized insurance service, state-of-the-art dashboard, cashless outgoing and ambulance service, fast payments and hassle-free claim payment capabilities.
