Kathmandu. The Balen Shah-led government is preparing to scrap 1,200 political appointments at once.
The single government of the RSP is preparing to revoke the appointments made by the previous governments in various sectors. For this, the government will issue an ordinance within 1-2 days, according to a source at the Ministry of Finance.
According to sources, through the ordinance, appointments made in various diplomatic missions, judicial sector, public corporations, regulatory bodies and other places will be annulled. “The process of promulgating the ordinance has reached the final stage,” a source said.
Earlier, in the meeting of the House of Representatives, Revenue Chairman and parliamentarian Ravi Lamichhane had announced to scrap the political appointments. Following this, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had sent letters to all the ministries seeking details of political appointments.
