Along with the Chief Commissioner of the National Information Commission, 36 officials of the Ministry of Communications have been relieved of their posts

Kathmandu. As many as 36 office-bearers of nine organisations under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology have been forced to return home before the completion of their term after the Rastriya Swatantra Party-led government scrapped the political appointments made by the erstwhile government through an ordinance.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, Chief Information Commissioner of the National Information Commission Dr. Suresh Prasad Acharya, Durga Bhandari Paudel and Gagan Bista have been relieved of their posts.

Similarly, Gorkhapatra Sansthan Chairman Govinda Prasad Bhandari (Akhanda), who was appointed by Communications Minister Jagadish Kharel during the election government, has been relieved of his post less than three months after he was appointed for a four-year term.

According to the Ministry of Communications, President of Press Council Nepal, Dr. Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) Bhupendra Bhandari, Chairman of Advertisement Board Laxman Humagain, Member of Security Printing Center Aditya Neupane, Executive Director Devraj Dhungana and Chairman of Public Service Broadcasting Nepal Dr. Kumar Sharma Acharya were present on the occasion. Mahendra Bista, Film Screening Committee member Sampanna Shrestha, Minimum Wage Fixation Committee Chair Sangita Khadka and other office-bearers were relieved of their posts.
