Kathmandu. Allianz, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, has added eSIM mobile data to its travel insurance for international travellers.
This new service will allow customers to get travel insurance and access to mobile internet for overseas use in a single package. This will eliminate the need to purchase a local SIM card or separate data package when arriving overseas.
This initiative comes at a time when uninterrupted internet connection has become almost necessary for international travel. From airports to hotels, finding directions to Google Maps, checking flight schedules, using ride-sharing, making online payments or communicating with family – everyone needs mobile data. However, many travelers arrive abroad and face difficulties in collecting local SIMs, registering or expensive international roaming.
The service will be available through its partner organizations and digital sales platforms. Customers can choose eSIM-enriched packages while purchasing travel insurance. After that, you can use the Internet as soon as you reach your destination. This eliminates the need to collect a separate SIM card or purchase a new data package.
An e-SIM or embedded SIM is a digital SIM card. Which is already connected to the passenger’s phone. Unlike a regular SIM card, it does not need to be opened or replaced. Usually it can be activated by scanning the QR code or using the operator’s information.
This technology is currently available in many of the newer smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches on the market. –Agency
