Kathmandu. Anil Tharu is an insurance agent by profession. In recent times, his name is well known in the insurance market. Currently, he is working as an agency manager at Citizen Life’s Chandrota Kapilvastu branch office. Anil is a person who likes to work hard and struggle. Due to that struggle and hard work, Anil has been able to leave a good mark in the teaching profession and even in the agent profession today.
Born in 2055 BS in Vijayanagar, Kapilvastu, Anil’s childhood was spent in a normal family. Anil says that he is studying to help his family. He is currently awaiting the results of his final year of graduation. He got a golden opportunity to join the teaching profession only after completing his Plus Two studies. This is the result of Anil’s dedication, hard work and honesty. Anil taught in his village school for 4 years.
While teaching, he became involved in the insurance sector. Anil’s elder sister Suntali Chaudhary used to work as an agent in the Tharu insurance sector. The same sister asked Anil to join the insurance sector. Anil’s sister said, “It is very good to work in the insurance sector. It’s great to be able to work in this area. Make an effort. The future is also good in this area. Working as an insurance agent is a social welfare profession as it can protect the people of the society by bringing them under the ambit of insurance. And on the other hand, he also earns his own income. It’s great because it can be done in your leisure time. Anil said, “Yes.” I’ll try once. If I can do well, I will make it a long-term career,” he said. After that, Anil started working in 2076 BS with a license from Citizen Life’s Kapilvastu.

Anil has been distributing insurance education in his village, locality and neighbourhood. He has spread insurance awareness in every village. Instead of getting insurance, he is focusing on submitting insurance to his neighbors. “The importance of insurance does not allow them to stay without insurance,” he said, adding, “It is necessary to explain the insurance rather than the insurance.” ’
After getting the insurance agent’s license, Anil got 2-4 insurances. He then withdrew from the agent profession for some time to continue his studies. After that, he continued again from 2081 BS. They are doing very well now.
Anil, who was initially afraid to tell people to buy insurance after getting a license, is now famous in the insurance market. He has now sold more than one hundred insurance policies.
Anil says he knew a little bit about insurance before joining the insurance profession, but he did not have much knowledge about it. He didn’t think he could do so much good with insurance. After joining the agent profession, Anil realized that he could earn a lot of income without investment.
Anil says that he considers the customer as God. Anil has taken the profession of an agent as a profession of religion. This is Anil’s dream in this profession. “There is a struggle, but we are working day and night to convert it into success,” he said. Anil says that he is very happy and satisfied with the profession of an insurance agent.
When asked why he chose to become an agent over teaching, Anil said, “Like other professions, this profession is a mix of hard work, sorrow and struggle. However, there is a two-way advantage in this profession because it is good for the customer and good for us. I was very attracted to this profession because of the honor, respect, and respect that I get in this profession, the creation of new opportunities, the opportunity to travel to new places, and everything in the agent profession. ’

Anil believes that his ability to speak has also improved after joining the agent profession. He says that Anil has changed a lot in his life after joining this profession. After joining this profession, he has also become financially strong.
According to Anil, working in the insurance market is both a challenge and an opportunity. He said, “Although there are many challenges in working in the insurance market, it is very good if it is done with truth, dedication and hard work.” There are 14 insurance companies. Agents are scattered in the insurance market with different policies and policies. And some people sell the policy by spreading confusion. That may be good for the moment, but in the long run, illusion is not a good business. Therefore, even if it is a challenge to work in the insurance market, if you do business with good information about your company and policy and benefits, then it is good for both the policyholder and the company. In order for the insurance market to be sustainable and better, everyone must sell the truth by cutting through the cultivation of lies and assurances. ’
According to Anil, insurance access has not been extended in Nepal due to lack of proper understanding of insurance. “If insurance could be provided, people’s understanding of insurance in Nepal would be better,” he said, adding, “There is a need to increase the initiative of every citizen, local level and government side for insurance.” ’
Anil is determined to stay in the agent profession for the long term. Anil has a lot of dreams in this profession. He aims to fulfill many dreams of insuring more and more customers, connecting them to insurance, removing people’s fear of insurance.
In Anil’s eyes, insurance is a parent. Which gives love, affection and protection to the child. “Insurance is also a guardian for the common man. Which gives life security and good returns after maturity, support in sorrow and support in old age. That’s why insurance is unaffordable for everyone,” he said.
Anil says that Citizen Life is the best insurance company. He said, “It is not the best company I have worked for, you can also assess it, policy-wise, management team, employees, progress report of the company and many other things.” That’s why I’m very happy. ’
Anil has received many awards from this company. He has always been ready to fulfill every goal and has received many awards under schemes like Hero of the Day, Hero of the Month, Diamond Club. He has also met the MDRT target for 2026.
