Kathmandu. Non-life insurer in the last fiscal year 2082. He has brought in a business of about Rs 52 billion in 1983.

According to the data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), the non-life insurance companies have earned Rs 51.92 billion in insurance premiums in the last fiscal year. Of them, 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro insurance companies have earned the highest amount of Rs 15.48 billion in insurance premiums. The share of motor insurance in the total business is 29.83 percent.

The second largest business of companies is seen in property insurance. In the review year, the companies have collected Rs 12.22 billion in property insurance premiums. The contribution of property insurance to the total business is 23.55 percent.

Similarly, a third of the business companies have brought in engineering and contract risk insurance. In the review year, the companies collected Rs 10.07 billion in insurance premiums from this sector. Engineering and contract risk insurance accounts for 19.41 percent of the total business.

In 2018, the insurance companies collected Rs 5.32 billion (10.25 percent), Rs 3.12 billion (6.01 percent), Rs 2.56 billion (4.94 percent) in air insurance, Rs 1.78 billion (3.45 percent) in agriculture insurance and Rs 1.33 billion (2.56 percent) in micro insurance.
