Kathmandu: Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma has inaugurated the Sudurpaschim Provincial office of the Insurance Board in Dhangadi today. Addressing the inaugural program, Minister Sharma said that the presence of the insurance regulatory authority in the province will help boost insurance awareness among people.
He further stressed that the local government should priorities insurance in the social welfare program to help protect farmers from financial loss amid flood, fire or any natural calamity. Sharma has directed that the Board to coordinate with the local government and province government to create an environment for insuring the poor people who cannot afford to pay the insurance premium.
This is the third province level office of the Insurance Board. The province offices of the Board in Madhes Province and Karnali Province is already operational. The Board has already taken initiation to run its province offices in Province 1, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province as well.
