Kathmandu: Non-life insurance companies have earned a total premium of Rs. 2.96 billion in the month of Jestha. According to the Insurance Board, 20 non-life insurers have earned a total of Rs 34.15 billion in insurance premiums till first 11 months of current fiscal year 2078/79.
Himalayan General Insurance Company has been able to collect the highest Rs. 363.1 million total premium in Jestha alone. It has left Shikhar Insurance behind. Shikhar Insurance Company stands at second position with a total premium income of Rs. 244.5 million.
Similarly, Rastriya Beema Company has earned a total premium of Rs. 218.1 million and Sagarmatha Insurance Company has collected Rs 203.3 million insurance premium. NECO Insurance Company and Premier Insurance Company have collected Rs 198.1 million and Rs 189.3 million respectively. While Siddhartha Insurance and NLG Insurance have earned Rs 171.3 million and Rs. 177 million in the same month. IME General has earned Rs. 159.3 million and Prudential Insurance has total premium income of Rs 77.8 million in the month of Jestha.
Similarly, Lumbini General Insurance contributed Rs. 117.8 million, Nepal Insurance Rs. 117.4 million, Ajod Insurance Rs. 108 million, Prabhu Insurance Rs 101.5 million and Sanima General Rs 97.6 million total premium.
Out of the 20 non-life insurers, 5 insurers couldn’t join the 100 million club in the month of Jestha. The Oriental Insurance has earned Rs. 87 million while United Insurance has made Rs 82.9 million total premiu. Everest Insurance has earned Rs. 68.9 million. General Insurance and National Insurance Company have earned Rs 57.9 million and Rs. 56 million respectively.
