Kathmandu:The Insurance Board has issued circular to all the life insurance companies to conduct insurance awareness campaign all over Nepal.The board has allocated 4 district for each of the 19 life insurance companies. The regulatory authority has excluded Kathmandu district in the campaign.
The districts have been assigned on the basis of lottery and mutual agreement among the life insurers.
The board has divided the districts under Himalayan, Terai, Eastern Hills and Western Hills and categorized them in an inclusive manner. All the 19 insurance companies will reach the Himalayan, Terai district, Eastern hill and western hill districts.
Nepal Life with the largest network will run the campaign in Sindhupalchok, Rupandehi, Bhaktapur and Pyuthan.
Asian Life Insurance will run the campaign in Darchula, Bardia, Lamjung and Nawalpur district.
National Life Insurance has been assigned Bajhang, Nawalparasi, Dhankuta and Syangja.
State-owned Rastriya Beema Sansthan will run the campaign in Rasuwa, Mahottari, Tanahu and Dailekh.
LIC Nepal has been assigned for Sankhuwasava, Sunsari, Terhathum and Kalikot.
The life insurers will run the campaign under their corporate social responsibility. They have been directed to promote basic information about the life insurance, it’s importance to the life of the people and the process of claim payment.
The regulatory authority has not developed procedural manual for the awareness campaign. The companies will be responsible for developing the manuals.
