Kathmandu: Insurance Board has approved the appointment of Ram Chandra Shrestha as the Chief Executive Officer of the General Insurance Company. The board has given regulatory approval on 23 July to appoint Shrestha the CEO.
A meeting of the BOD of the company held on 23 June had decided to appoint Shrestha as CEO. Shrestha was working as acting CEO. There is a provision that the final approval of the decision made by the board of directors has to be given by the insurance committee.
Shrestha has 33 years of experience in the insurance sector. He had started his career at the Rastriya Beema Sansthan in October, 1988. Born in Palpa, Shrestha spent a long time researching insurance companies. Shrestha is an MBA in management. Having worked in the insurance sector for more than three decades, he has spent two decades in top management and research.
