Kathmandu: If any employee working in an insurance company is infected with Covid-19, the entire cost will be borne by the company itself. The Insurance Board (Beema Samiti) has issued a circular to all the companies on Friday instructing to bear all the expenses including PCR test fee of the infected employees and also to the employees who have come in contact with infected employees.
Companies are required to make arrangement for keeping employees safely in isolation or quarantine at home, hospital or hotel. In addition, the employees in isolation or quarantine and
the employees assigned outside the office in connection with the urgent work of the office should come to the office only after the PCR test report is negative.
The Insurance Board has also directed to provide additional leave to the employees in isolation or quarantine with full salary for the period and make arrangement to mention additional leave and work from home in the attendance.
The Board has said that the directive was issued as the company’s employees were at high risk of infection due to the increasing risk of Covid 19, which is currently spreading as a global epidemic.
