Kathmandu. Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has received 8 applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
A committee formed by the Ministry of Finance under the convenorship of Joint Secretary Mahesh Acharya had invited applications for the post of CEO of NEPSE on July 28. The deadline to apply was August 26. “Till the last day, 8 applications have been received,” said Joint Secretary Acharya, adding, “Now the process of shortlisting on the basis of qualifications and work experience will begin.” ’
Acharya, however, did not want to disclose the names of those who had applied.
Applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in economics, commerce, finance, management, information technology or commerce or law from a recognized educational institution and at least 7 years of managerial experience in capital market or financial sector or management with at least 15 years of work experience.
The recommendation committee will issue the shortlist based on the evaluation of the qualifications, experience and action plan of the applications received. After this, the committee will call the shortlisted people for interviews and presentations.
After the interview and presentation, the committee will submit the names of 3 people to the ministry. After this, the Ministry will recommend these names in the Council of Ministers. One of them will be appointed as the CEO of Nepse by the cabinet meeting.
Chudamani Chapagain had resigned from the post of CEO of NEPSE on July 7. The then government had appointed him as the CEO of NEPSE on April 2, 2081.
