Kathmandu. 5 people have been arrested on the charge of cheating money on the pretext of sending them to different countries with the lure of lucrative salaries in foreign employment.
The arrestees have been identified as Bishnu Khatri, 46, of Udayapur, Dinesh Pakhren Tamang, 35, of Sindhuli, Rajesh Baram, 38, of Tokha-6 and Chhiring Sherpa, 48, of Gokarneshwor-8, of Gokarneshwor-8.
According to the police, Ashika had cheated one victim of Rs 750,000 on the pretext of sending him to the UK, Rs 600,000 from one victim in the name of sending Bishnu to Malta, Dinesh Rs 200,000 from one victim on the pretext of sending him to UAE, Rajesh from Rs 1.55 million from two victims on the pretext of sending him to Singapore and Rs 740,000 from two victims on the pretext of sending him to Canada. Based on the complaint, a police team deployed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku arrested Ashika from Kathmandu-16 on Thursday, Bishnu from Kathmandu-32, Dinesh from Kathmandu-12 on Friday, Rajesh from Kathmandu-6 on Saturday and Tshering from Gokarneshwor-3 on Sunday.
The arrested have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment Tahachal for necessary investigation and action.
