3-day Employee Skill Enhancement Program of National Life Concludes in Pokhara

Kathmandu. National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has successfully conducted a 3-day Employee Skill Enhancement Program at Hotel Grand Pokhara. The program was organized with the theme “Transitioning to the Age of Artificial Intelligence” with the objective of enhancing the technical capacity and professional skills of its employees.

A total of 270 employees including the company’s chairman, CEO, management team and department heads were present in the program.

The company’s Chairman Prema Rajya Laxmi Singh inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp on Panas. During the inauguration, Chairman expressed the hope that this comprehensive training on Artificial Intelligence will help in the promotion of the company’s business as the insurance business is becoming an increasingly technical subject. On the occasion, seven employees of the Best Employee Award-2082 were honored with cash prizes and letter of appreciation on the basis of performance evaluation.

In the welcome address, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Suresh Prasad Khatri, said that the best results can be achieved only from skilled employees, and the AI (Artificial Intelligence) training has been arranged to enable employees to be able to use technology and effectively use tools such as data analysis and customer service system to make service delivery faster, simpler, and qualitative. He also informed that arrangements have been made for providing training to the employees on money laundering which is directly related to the insurance business.

In the program, Sandesh Bhattarai of Broadway Infosys presented various examples on Artificial Intelligence and provided extensive training on AI.

Similarly, Deputy Director of the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Padam Prasad Sodari urged all to be aware of the possibility of money laundering in various pretexts by using insurance as a medium and said that it was the duty of all to stop terrorist financing for the national interest. Since such people can be identified through various financial activities, they were given training to prevent such activities only by keeping their financial activities under close surveillance and advancing their profession in a dignified manner.

The program aims to enhance the mental and physical health of the employees. Yoga training was also imparted by Donjan Lamichhane.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) honored Surakshya Singh, Bejon Karki of Central Office and Siddhartha Maharjan of Kirtipur branch who secured first, second and third positions respectively in the examination conducted for enhancing the professional knowledge of the participating employees. Similarly, the first, second and third prizes of the province-level futsal tournament were also awarded to the winners from Lumbini Province, Gandaki Province and Central Office.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Smriti Raj Kandel expressed her confidence that the company will continue to organize such programs regularly in the coming days to enhance the skills, efficiency and service quality of the employees.
