Kathmandu: The meeting of council of ministers has appointed Sarad Ojha as the chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. Ojha,33, is the youngest ever chairman of the insurance regulatory body.
Ojha hails from the media background. He served as an editor in the leading national news media over decades.In recent days, he kept himself busy in teaching and the law practice. He has served as insurance advisor as well.
After the meeting of the chairman’s candidates, the recommendation committee had forwarded the names of three candidate including Ojha. The other short listed candidates were Ramsaran Pudasaini and Dr. Damodar Basaula.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday at prime ministers residence, Baluwatar decided to appoint Ojha as the chairman for the tenure of four years. Ojha is supposed to take the oath of office on Tuesday with finance minister Mr. Bishnu Paudel.
Ojha is a lawyer, financial consultant and former journalist who is also involved in teaching management-related subjects at the undergraduate level.
