Kathmandu: The insurance regulatory authority, Nepal Insurance Authority(NIA) has prohibited insurers to publicize news about the claim payment. The regulation section of NIA has instructed all insurers not to use the individual incident of claim payment as a means of propaganda.
The circular issued by NIA mentions that some insurers have unnecessarily published the photo of victims receiving the claim. The insurers have been suggested to periodically publish the report on status of claim intimated and claim settled. Further, it has also advised all the insurers to gain faith of the insured and victims through early settlement of claim under the terms and conditions of the insurance contract.
