Kathmandu: The meeting of the board of directors (BODs) of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Company Limited (PMLI) has re-elected youngest ever chairperson in the insurance industry. The meeting of the BODs held on Tuesday re-elected Shiksha Bhattachan (33).
Shiksha represents the promoters group in the the BODs. Earlier she was elected as the chairperson after the merger of Prabhu Life Insurance and Mahalaxmi Life Insurance. Shiksha hails from the family of Mr. Devi Prakash Bhattachan, the chairman of Prabhu Group. Shiksha is the daughter of Bhattachan.
The sixth annual general meeting of PMLI held on Paush 29 elected four directors from promoters’ group and two form general public shareholder’s group. Shiksha, Sushan Sherchan, Samjhana Aryal and Birendra Jung Pandey (representative of Jyoti Bikas Bank Ltd) were elected from the promoters’ group, while Jyoti Sherchan (representative of Nepal Holding) and Shankar Gautam (representative of Liberty Holding) were elected from the public shareholder’s group.
