Kathmandu: The Himalayan Reinsurance Company Limited’s board of directors has proposed promoting Upasana Paudel as the chief executive officer. The meeting of the BODs held on Sunday has endorsed the agenda of the promotion of Dy CEO Paudel to CEO.
The move of the BODs came following the resignation of CEO Chandrasekharan Ramamurthy. Ramamurthi resined within two years of his appointment in Himalayan Reinsurance. He was appointed for a term of four years. The reinsurance will need to receive a nod from the insurance regulator, the Nepal Insurance Authority for the appointment of a new CEO.
Prior to joining Himalayan Re, Paudel was the CEO of United Insurance Limited, the only female CEO of the insurance industry in Nepal. She hails from the background of telecommunication and general insurance business. According to Himalayan Re, Paudel has over a decade of experience in corporate marketing and management in the telecommunication and insurance industry.
