Kathmandu: Life insurers earned a total of NPR 19.6 billion in insurance premiums in the first month of the current financial year 2080-81. According to the monthly update provided by the Nepal Insurance Authority, life insurers collected NPR 2.29 billion from new businesses.
The industry has witnessed a growth of 30 percent in the total insurance premium income, while the industry suffered a negative growth in new business income.
A total of 8,32,759 insurance policies have been sold by the life insurers. During the month of Sawan 2080, Nepal Life Insurance Company earned NPR 5.22 billion in total insurance premiums. State-owned life insurer, National Insurance Company earned NPR 3.34 billion. Himalayan Life Insurance earned a total of NPR 1.93 billion in the month of Sawan alone.
According to the Authority, LIC Nepal earned a total of NPRi 1.92 billion in total insurance premiums. National Life Insurance Company earned a total of NPR 1.80 billion. Suryajyoti Life collection NPR 1 billion.
