Kathmandu: The Nepal Insurance Authority has published updated data on the insurance business of life insurers during the last financial year 2079-80. The life insurers witnessed a net 24.73 percent downfall in the last financial year as compared to the previous FY 2078-79.
15 life insurance companies earned a total of NPR 1 trillion 42.32 billion including new business premiums.
Nepal Life Insurance Company earned NPR 6.56 billion from new business. National Life Insurance collected a total of NPR 3.87 billion in new business premiums. Surya Jyoti Life earned FPI NPR 2.71 billion.
Similarly, LIC Nepal earned NPR 2.38 billion, Himalayan Life NPR 2.28 billion, Citizen Life earned NPR 1.94 billion, and Sanima Reliance Life earned NPR 1.86. The FPI of Sun Nepal Life was NPR 1.76 billion while Asian Life Insurance earned NPR 1.54 billion in FPI.
