State-owned reinsurer pays NPR 1.5 bn claim in FY 79-80

Kathmandu. Nepal Reinsurance Company (Nepal Re) has paid above NPR 1.5 billion against reinsurance claims during the last financial year 2079-80. According to the monthly insurance data unveiled by the state-owned reinsurer, it paid a total of NPR 1 billion 658.3 million against 1482 claims.

The largest chunk of the claim from reinsurance is received by domestic non-life insurers. The insurers received a total of NPR 1.325 billion. Similarly, foreign non-life insurers received NPR 138.1 million against their claim during the last FY 2079-80
