Kathmandu: Singapore-based life insurer Singlife announced that it has adopted the United Nations (UN)-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). The insurer has become the first insurer in Southeast Asia to adopt UN- PRI.
Institutional investors who become a signing party of the PRI are committed to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into their investment practices and ownership policies.
The PRI has above 5,000 signatories who manage over $121tn investments. UN launched the PRI in New York in 2006. The PRI works to understand the investment implications of ESG factors and to support its signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment decision.
