Kathmandu: Surya Prasad Silwal, the chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, urged employees’ union leaders of insurance companies to get aware of the utilization of 2 percent of profit for the welfare and development of employees.
Addressing the convention of the Nepal Insurance Authority Employees’ Union on Friday, Chairman Silwal suggested the union leaders act as a watchdog to ensure that their share of the profit is well utilized for the professional skill development, training, recreation, and welfare of the employees. He said, ‘If your company’s management is uninterested to spend the allocated funds for employees’ welfare, then inform us, and we will take necessary action.’
Further, he shared that the proper settlement of the workforce during the merger or acquisition of insurance companies has also been ensured by the regulatory authority. He said,’ Not a single employee can be fired by management in the course of merger or acquisition. Even the previous perks and benefits too can not be trimmed.’
The third convention of the Employees’ Union has elected a new executive committee under the leadership of Sambhu Prasad Mishra.
