Kathmandu: The total insurance premium income of the general insurance companies has surged by 56 percent to Rs. 4.10 billion in the month of Paush 2079. The total insurance premium income of the general insurer was Rs.2.61 billion in the previous month.
Shikhar Insurance Company earned a total of Rs. 1.11 billion the last month. Himalayan Everest Insurance made a growth of 110.22 percent as compared to the month of Mangsir 2079. It collected a total of Rs 405.5 million in insurance premiums. Neco Insurance Company earned Rs. 267.3 million in insurance premiums.
Similarly, during the month of Paush, NLG Rs. 265.7 million, Prabhu Rs. 219.5 million, Siddharth Rs. 206.6 million, Sagarmatha Rs. 203.6 million, Sanima GIC Rs. 185.2 million, Lumbini General Rs. 174 million, Premier Insurance Rs. 179 million, Ajod Insurance 163.2 million total insurance premium. The premium income of IME General Rs. 148.5 million, Nepal Insurance Rs.128.6 million, The Oriental Rs.118 million, Prudential Insurance Rs.115 million, United Insurance Rs. 88.2 million, National Insurance Rs. 84 million. The only state-owned general insurer, Rastriya Beema Company had the lowest insurance premium income. It earned Rs. 59.8 million in the month of Paush only.
