Nepal Life Mulls to Introduce LMS for Agency Training Automation

Kathmandu: While the Nepal Insurance Authority emphasized the use of information technology for insurance agency license distribution, Nepal Life Insurance Company(NLIC) has taken a step forward and is developing a fully automated learning management system(LMS) for agent training operations.

Nepal Life has planned to introduce LMS with features to allow aspirants to attend insurance agency training and get qualified for the agency license. In the proposed LMS, the applicant himself can upload an academic certificate, character certificate, citizenship, passport, permanent account number certificate, and other required documents. With the use of LMS, there will be no obligation to physically attend training. The company has invited interested suppliers or software companies to submit their sealed bids by Magh 5, 2079 (January 19, 2023).

As the trend of filling out the application form for participation in the agent training but skipping the training increased, the insurance companies were forced to prepare the bogus attendance of the participants for regulatory purposes. As Nepal Insurance Authority is in the final stage of implementation of the online system to conduct agency license, an applicant must attend the examination through camera-enabled devices like desktops, laptops, tabs, mobile etc. The proposed LMS to be developed by Nepal Life will be useful for other insurance companies as well.

Anyone who is interested in the insurance agency profession can get useful information about insurance, share queries and experiences, participate in online exams and know the status of their performance. The LMS will be available through any digital device like desktop, laptop, tab, mobile phone, etc.

According to the notice, the audio-visual materials broadcasted from social networks like Facebook, YouTube, Tik Tok, Zoom etc. must be easily integrated into LMS. In addition, there should be a facility that can allow bulk entry or restriction of the participants. LMS must be multilingual.
