Sun Nepal Life’s General Manager Gautam Forced to Resign

Kathmandu: Kamal Raj Gautam, General Manager of Sun Nepal Life has been forced to quit the organization. He was forced to quit amid the news coverage by insurancekhabar.com on his continuation despite exceeding the age limit.

According to the company’s source, Gautam submitted his resignation yesterday. As per the labor law and employee bylaws, an employee above the age of 58 years cannot continue his or her job. But Gautam’s age already exceeded 67 years. He has been working for the company since its inception. He had wished to continue his job until the IPO issue.

Insurancekhabar reported news on Paush 2079 about his job continuation despite the age limit exceeding. Following the news, the officials of the Nepal Insurance Authority advised him to resign to secure his future benefits from the company.

The Authority’s officials favored him as a person with long experience in the insurance industry. Gautam, who has more than four decades of experience in the insurance sector, worked as a trainer for 10 years at the Nepal Insurance Authority. He also worked in Rastriya Beema Sansthan, Asian Life Insurance, and Nepal Life Insurance.
