MetLife’s Nepal Branch Celebrates its 21st Anniversary in Nepal

Kathmandu: Met Life Insurance Company(ALICO) has completed two decades of life insurance business in Nepal. The company has been established as the branch office of Met Life since December 5, 2001.

In a period of two decades, the company has been providing protection to more than one million people through life insurance. MetLife has paid more than 316 million claims and expanded its workforce by more than 45,000. Along with this, MetLife has been playing a significant role in the development of the insurance sector in Nepal by promoting talent growth through digitized services, unique insurance solutions, and career development opportunities.


Met Life Nepal has organized an insurance awareness walkathon in Lalitpur on the occasion of its 21st anniversary. More than 300 Met Life employees and insurance agents participated in this 4.5 km walkathon on Saturday. The main objective of this program was to spread insurance awareness in society for a secure financial future. Dev Kishore Lal, Chief Operating Officer of MetLife, formally inaugurated the program and addressed the participants. He said, “Since more than 60 percent of the country’s population is not covered by insurance, it is important to provide information about insurance.”

Addressing the event, Nirmalkaji Shrestha, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, said, “As one of the leading insurance companies in the world, MetLife has helped millions of customers around the world to secure their future and live with confidence.
