Kathmandu: The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of United Insurance Company Limited, Upasana Paudel, joins Himalayan Re-insurance Company Limited(Himalayan Re) as Deputy CEO. She had resigned from the post of CEO of United Insurance Limited prior to joining Himalayan Re.
Upasana will be supporting CEO Chandra Sekharan Ramamurthi for the expansion of reinsurance business abroad.
She served at United Insurance for three years including one and a half years as CEO and one and a half years as Dy CEO. Paudel, an MBA from Delhi University in India, worked for over a decade in India’s ICICI Lombard Insurance and Bharti Axa Insurance. Prior to joining United Insurance, she was with Sanima General Insurance as Assistant General Manager.
Upasana has set the record as the first and only female candidate to get the appointment as CEO of insurance company in Nepalese insurance industry.
