Kathmandu: The Health Insurance Board(HIB) has disbursed Rs.4.4 billion under the Health Insurance Program (HIP) to affiliated health institutions within first four months of current fiscal year.
According the press release published by the HIB, a total of Rs. 1.76 billion has been paid to the health institutions on Tuesday against their claim under HIP. Earlier, the Board had paid Rs. 3.33 billion to health institutions for full and partial claims since Sawan 2079.
A total of 348 health institutions under the seven provinces affiliated to the Board have received reimbursement against their healthcare services and medical expenses to the insurer under HIP.
According to Baird, Seti Provincial Hospital in Far West has received a claim payment of Rs.1 crore 32 lakh. Surkhet Regional Hospital of Karnali Province has received payment of Rs. 1 crore 94 lakh. The Board has informed that Rs. 2 crore 36 lakh has been paid under third installment to Lumbini Provincial Hospital Butwal and Rs. 2 crore 1 lakh to Devdah Teaching Hospital, Lumbini.
Similarly, West Regional Hospital Pokhara has received Rs.2 crore 2 crore 76 lakh 34 thousand, Gandaki Medical College has received Rs. 2 crore 10 lakh. The Board has paid Rs. 4 crore 36 lakh to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Similarly, within the Kathmandu Valley, Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital( TUTH) has received payment of Rs. 1 crore 33 lakh 94 thousand, Martyr Gangalal National Heart Center Hospital Rs. 1 crore 99 lakh, and Bir Hospital Rs. 2 crore 37 lakh. Similarly reimbursement given to Bhaktapur’s Human Organ Transplantation Center has received Rs. 1 crore 43 lakh rupees, Nepal Korea Friendship Hospital Rs. 1 crore 66 lakh, Khwap Hospital Rs. 1 crore 60 lakh, Bhaktapur Hospital Rs. 1crore 30 lakh and Kavre’s Dhulikhel Hospital Rs. 3 crore 10 lakh.
