General Insurers’ TPI Surge by 23.42 pc in the First 2 Months of Current FY

Kathmandu: Contrary to the decline in the total premium income of life insurance companies, general insurance companies have managed to achieve a growth of 23.42 percent in the first two month of current fiscal year.

According to the Insurance Board, 19 general life insurance companies have earned Rs. 7.87 billion insurance premium till the end of Bhadra 2079-80. The general insurance companies had earned Rs. 6.38 billion till the Bhadra end of last fiscal year 2078-79. General Insurance companies have earned Rs. 3.39 billion premium in the month of Bhadra alone.

The state-owned general insurer Rastriya Beema Company has earned the highest insurance premium of Rs. 36.18 million. Shikhar Insurance has earned Rs. 31.71 crore and Neco Insurance has earned Rs. 26.86 crore in Bhadra 2079. Sagarmatha Insurance has earned Rs.26.1 crore while Siddharth Insurance has collected Rs. 23 crores only.
