Kathmandu: The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of state-owned general insurer Rastriya Beema Company, Shekhar Baral, vows to accomplish the long pending financial audit and annual general meetings(AGM). He has taken the charge following the consent from the Insurance Board over his appointment to CEO by the meeting of the Board of Directors(BODs) held on Bhadra 23, 2079.
Baral has been appointed for a tenure of 4 years. Rastriya Beema Company has been suffering from poor corporate governance since long. It has been unable to accomplish its financial reports and AGM on time.
Taking the charge at his office, CEO Baral informed that the setting business strategy and holding AGM within six months will be his priority.
With over 25 years of experience in the insurance and banking sector, Baral has held the position of Chief Executive Officer in Surya Life, Lumbini General and United Insurance. Baral, who started his career with Standard Chartered Bank, has done his MBA from Tribhuvan University.
