Three Men Arrested For Setting Fire In Tipper For Insurance Claim

Kathmandu : Nepal Police, Dang has arrested three persons allegedly involved in set fire to his own tipper today in Ghorahi of Dang to get a claim from the insurance company, taking advantage of the bandh jointly called by the four political parties.

A tipper with the registration number Ra 1 Kha 1694 was set ablaze early morning on Tuesday at Babai River Bridge of Ghorahi-Lamahi Highway.

During the investigation, police has found that the vehicle was set ablaze by the Driver and Co-Driver of the tipper on the instruction of the owner Dhaneshwor Bhandari. Bhandari had a plan to make insurance claim on the ground that his vehicle was set ablaze by the agitators during nationwide shutdown on Tuesday.

Nepal Police Dang has informed that driver Arun Chaudhary and co-driver Akash Chaudhary set fire to the tipper upon the request of the tipper owner. It was learnt that the tipper was out of order and required heavy investment for repair and maintenance.

In normal circumstances, a claim cannot be made for setting fire. But during the strike, it is easy for the agitators to say when a fire is set and the claim is also easy to get.
