Government plans to continue Health Insurance Program through Insurers

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Janardashan Sharma has allocated Rs. 7.5 billion for the Health Insurance Board through the budget of the coming Fiscal Year 2079/80. Arrangement will be made to get the health services provided by the Health Insurance Board only from government and community hospitals through the budget.

To make the health insurance program more systematic and effective, the service will be provided to the beneficiaries only from community and government hospitals, said Sharma. For this, community health units will be established in all community and cooperative hospitals.

Necessary preparations will be made to run the health insurance program through insurance companies to make it sustainable.
