Kathmandu: Life insurance companies in India have settled above 2 lakh Covid19 death claims within two years. According to The Indian Express, life insurers have settled 2,27,268 Covid19 death claims since the pandemic hit the country in March 2020.
Life Insurers along have paid, paying IRs 17,362.48 crore under Covid19 Death Claim.
Compensation towards Covid19 death claims were reported under individual, group policies and the PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). According to indianexpress.com, back-of-the-envelope calculations indicate that the average claim per person was IRs. 7,63,965.
