Kathmandu: The Insurance Board has issued ‘Kiwi Farming’ and ‘Dragon Fruit Farming’ insurance policies. The board has issued kiwi farming insurance policy based on cost and production.
The board has stated that the insurance policy has been issued for the farmers to insure against the possible damage to the kiwi farming mentioned in the insurance policy. The insurance policy of Kiwi Farming has made arrangements to compensate against fire damage, wind damage, water damage, weather damage, lightening damage, damage due to accidental or accidental external cause and diseases or pest damage. Accidental insurance facility of up to Rs. 200,000 can also be provided under this insurance policy. There is an arrangement to fix the insurance premium on the basis of cost.
Similarly, the insurance policy of Dragon Fruit has also made arrangements to compensate against fire damage, wind damage, water damage, weather damage, lightening damage, damage due to accidental or accidental external cause and disease or insect damage.
Dragon fruit farming planted in the same area cannot be partially insured.
