Met Life’s Profit exceeds 100mn in Q2

Kathmandu: Met Life Insurance Company has earned a profit of Rs. 103.9 million till the second quarter of the current fiscal year 2078/79. The company had earned Rs. 163.3 million in the same period last fiscal year.

There has been a general improvement in the company’s net premium earnings. The company has earned Rs. 2.53 billion as of mid-January. The net premium income was Rs.2.44 billion in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year. The total premium income is Rs. 2.64 billion in Q2. Such income was Rs. 2.53 billion in the corresponding period of the last year. The company has issued 1.13 million policies till Paush end(mid-January).

The company has paid a net claim of Rs. 2.18 billion in the second quarter. The agents have received a commission of Rs. 243.5 million till Paush end of 2078/79. The company has allocated Rs. 2.57 billion in the reserve fund and Rs 19.61 billion for life insurance fund.
