NRB makes amendments in Unified Directives for Microfinance

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has amended the Unified Directive 2077 issued for microfinance. In order to protect the investment made by microfinance through the amendment, some amendment has been made in the provision regarding the risk mitigation of the loan.

The NRB has included a provision to maintain only 25 percent loan loss provision against the agricultural and livestock loans which are insured in favour of the microfinance institutes. Earlier there was only a provision to make 25 percent provisioning against the loan secured through the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund
