Indian Nonlife Insurers earned IRs. 17,679 crore premium in October

Kathmandu: Indian non-life insurance industry has earned a total premium of IRs. 17,679.98 crore in October 2021. As per the data made public by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).the 31-non-life insurers have accumulated a premium of IRs. 17,679.98 crore on October up from IRs.15,906.71 crore earned in October 2020.

The New India Assurance Company Ltd, a state-owned company, has earned highest insurance premium of IRs. 2,705.84 crore. Whereas, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd with IRs. 1,675.29 crore and HDFC Ergo General Insurance with IRs 1,236.10 crore insurance premium.
Despite the growth of the non-life insurance industry’s premium, public sector insurer United India Insurance Company Ltd, National Insurance Company Ltd, ECGC Ltd and private sector’s companies NAVI General Insurance Ltd and Shriram General Insurance Company Ltd had negative growth.
Agricultural Insurance Company of India Ltd and ECGC Ltd have earned a premium of IRs 338.57 crore and IRs 80.38 crore respectively on the month of October.
