Chinese Insurer denies Insurance Support for Pakistani Energy Project

Beijing [China]: Government of Pakistan is trying hard to reinstate the insurance cover for six major energy power project from Chinese Insurance Company ‘Sinosure’.

The projects worth USD 5 billion are a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has requested Beijing to intervene to continue the insurance cover.

After a month of showing dissatisfaction over the delay in Solar power project, Sinosure has denied the insurance cover.

Sinosure has also underwritten around USD 8 billion insurance cover to Mainline-1, a 1,733km railway line from Karachi to Peshawar, Pakistani newspaper The Dawn News reported.
