Inward remittance declined by 6.3 percent in first two months of current FY

Kathmandu: The inward remittance has decreased 6.3 percent to Rs.155.37 billion during the first two months of current fiscal year 2021/22. In the review period last year there was an increase of 8.1 percent in inward remittance.

The two months macro-economic study report of Nepal Rastra Bank disclose that in the US Dollar terms, remittance inflows decreased 5.8 percent to 1.31 billion in the review period against an increase of 2.6 percent in the same period of the last year.

During mid-July and mid-September this year, number of Nepali workers taking approval for foreign employment increased significantly to 38,492 in the review period. It had decreased 99.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.

The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment increased significantly to 22,976 in the review period. It had decreased 86.5 percent in the same period of the previous year. Net transfer decreased 6.4 percent to Rs.171.92 billion in the review period. Such a transfer had increased 4.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.
