Kathmandu: Among the 20 non-life insurance companies, Shikhar Insurance Limited has paid the highest amount of claims in the last fiscal year.
Shikhar Insurance has paid Rs. 1.98 billion to the insured under 19,181 claims in the last fiscal year 2077/78. Compared to the previous fiscal year, in FY 2077/78, the claim payment of Shikhar Insurance has increased by 22 percent. As per the fourth quarterly statement, compensation of Rs. 1.61 billion had been paid in the previous fiscal year. Shikhar Insurance had paid compensation against 14,470 claims in the previous fiscal year.
Similarly, Himalayan General Insurance, which is in the second place in terms of claim amount, has paid Rs. 1.75 billion under 7,384 claims, according to the company’s fourth quarterly report. Previous F.Y, Himalayan General Insurance had paid Rs. 384.157 million for 4,432 insurance claims. Compared to the previous fiscal year, the claim payment of Himalayan Insurance has increased by 356 percent.
NLG Insurance Co. Ltd., which is ranked third in terms of claim payment amount, has paid Rs. 1.34 billion against 8,339 claims in last FY. Claims payments of NLG Insurance have increased by 50 percent in the last FY as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous FY, compensation amount of Rs.898.19 million was paid under 5,465 claims.
Similarly, Sagarmatha Insurance, which is in the fourth place based on the claim payment, has paid compensation of Rs. 1.33 billion. Everest has paid this amount under 10 thousand 69 claims in the last FY. Compensation payment of Sagarmatha Insurance had increased by 29.49 percent over the previous FY.
Premier Insurance is ranked fifth in terms of compensation claims paid last FY. Premier has paid compensation of Rs. 1.30 billion under 7,895 claims in the last fiscal year. In the previous FY, Premier Insurance had paid compensation of Rs. 891.09 million.
