Kathmandu: Nabico Biscuit Pvt Ltd has submitted claim against fire insurance to Sanima General Insurance.
Deputy General Manager of the company Pravin Kumar Koirala informed that Sanima General has insured the equivalent of Rs. 260 million.
Sanima General has already deployed its surveyor to assess the damage details. Property of millions were burnt to ash by massive fire in the factory premise on Saturday.The factory is situated inside Balaju Industrial Area.Nebico is popular homegrown brand.
DGM Koirala informed that the exact details will be known only after the surveyor evaluates the damage.
It took time to control the blaze that sparked at 2 am on Saturday. Firefighters and helicopters were used to control the blaze.
As Sanima General has taken out insurance alone, the entire responsibility has fallen on it Since the company also does foreign reinsurance in the company, it does not have to bear the entire responsibility itself.
